Industrial Heritage
Convenor - Pat Thomas (01522 887546)
The Industrial Heritage Group mixes talks and presentations
"at home" at Redwood Drive Community Centre off Brant Road in
Waddington (usually in the winter) and there are visits to near and more
distant venues of industrial interest (usually in the summer).
The "at home" meetings are 10.00am for
10.30 start on the 3rd Friday of each month. The "out and about"
trips vary depending on availabe access to sites of interest.
In the study of a wide range of industries and services
in the local area and further afield, we investigate past activities and
compare these with current trends and future projects. We are following
the progress of the Energy From Waste facility in North Hykeham and each
year there has been a visit to a different faculty of Lincoln University
. Memorable visits have been to the Red Arrows and the Jaguar Factory
at Birmingham. This is a well-attended group with approximately 60 members
on roll.
